GOSPEL THOUGHTS
*Ordinary Season: Seventeenth Week : Tuesday*
*Gospel : Mt 13:36-43*
*First Reading : Jer 14:17-22*
*The good seed, the children of the Kingdom*
*1) The Quality of the Good Seed*
In today's Gospel, Jesus reveals the quality of the good seed
The seed has the highest quality, through which it can gain place in the kingdom of God
Good seed is equated with the Children of the kingdom, which is something great
*2) We are the Children of the Kingdom*
Through the sacrament of Baptism, we have become the children of the Kingdom
We have been given a special status, through the sacrament of Baptism to become the children of God
By which we have become the good seed to produce the great fruit in the Good soil
*3) The challenge of the Good seed*
In fact the good seed is surrounded by the darnel, the evil seed which was sown by the evil one
When there are darnels around the good seed, it automatically affects the working of the good seed
The good seed has to make extra effort to face all kinds of darnels and produce good fruit
Good seed can't run away from the darnels neither it can have smooth growth for producing the good fruit
*4) Life faced with Challenges*
Like the good seeds, the life is also challenged by many evil things which make us to suffer
The good seed of life is surrounded by the following darnels
Greed for money
Greed for power and authority
Greed for position
Greed for wealth
Greed for name and fame
Revengeful attitude
Ego problem
Lack of understanding
Pride
Arrogance
Jealousy
Gossip laziness
All these are the seeds of darnel, which make the good seed to suffer during its growth
*5) The survival of the Good Seed*
In spite of all challenges, the good seed sprouted and grew and produced good yield
This shows the good seed has the tremendous power to face any challenges and to live with any circumstances in producing fruits
Good seed, the children of heaven have tremendous power to face any challenges and to produce good fruit
*6) Failure from the Good seed*
The good seed has all the qualities and capacities to produce fruits in any circumstances
In spite of these things, if the good seed fails to produce the fruit, it becomes a gross failure from the part of the seed to grow
As good seeds, the children of the Kingdom, if we fail use the capacities inherent in the seed we will over powered by the darnels an will not allow us to produce fruits
As a good seed, the children of the Kingdom, what is my responsibility in producing the good fruit?
*Think about it*
*God bless you and your family. Praying for you and your dear ones*
