Taking Counsel to destroy some one's life, is the beginning of the end of our Life

GOSPEL THOUGHTS

15th Week – Saturday

Gospel –Matthew 12: 14-21

Taking Counsel to destroy some one's life, is the beginning of the end of our Life

"The Pharisees went out and took counsel against Jesus to put him to death"

 1) Taking counsel is the important aspect of our life

  • Counsel means, advice, especially that given formally.
  • All of us receive this counsel from our parents, teachers, elders, religious leaders and from our friends
  • The very purpose of receiving counsel is nothing but to understand various things which we are ignorant, and to make our life more meaningful, beautiful and peaceful.
  • This is the very purpose of the Counsel

 2) Pharisees are taking Counsel to destroy Jesus

  • This is something which is abominable.
  • Taking counsel to destroy some one's life  shows the persons degraded moral standard of life
  • Such a person is totally going against the very concept of Counsel and misusing this very concept
  • When someone takes counsel for good things, his/her life becomes good and beautiful. It gives a meaning to our life.
  • But if someone takes counsel to destroy the life of another, the result is the destruction of the self. By doing so one destroys his/her own life and ends up with great misery

3) The ultimate result of Pharisees counsel for wrong things

  •  They succeeded in putting Jesus into death.
  •  They committed a great crime against innocent blood
  •  They lost the kingdom of God which they were suppose to inherit
  •  They became murderers of God/son of God
  •  Ultimately they destroyed their own image, reputation and finally their own life
  •  Taking counsel for destroying someone else's life does not help us in any way; rather it destroys our own life

 4) Am I taking counsel/advice for bad things?

  • All of us receive counsel from another. Now the counsel which I receive is it for good or for the destruction
  •  Some of the ways and examples of receiving counsel for bad things
  • When I receive counsel from another to
  • Teach a lesson to the other
  • To take revenge on another
  • To defeat another
  • To humiliate another in the public
  • To spoil the name and reputation of another
  • To malign the name of another
  • To cheat another

 5) Use every counsel for Good

  • Bible is one of the great revelations of God, in which we have so much counsel from God
  • Every day when we read and meditate the word of God, we get lots of counsel, advice, and  inspiration from the Lord to make our life morally good and acceptable to God
  • Blessed are those who use the counsel of another to achieve something good and great. Such a person will be great in His life
  • All those great personalities used the counsel of God and of the neighbour for something good. That why they became great
  • All those who used the counsel of God and of other for something which was not good, not only destroyed others life but also their own life
  • Now the question is, How do I use the counsel of God and of the other
  • Is it for good or bad?

 6) Be careful about the bad Counsel

  • We need to be prudent to analyze what is good counsel and what is bad counsel
  • There are many who give us bad counsel to trap us in many things. Unless we are careful we will end up in difficulties
  • We need to keep ourselves away from those who give us bad counsel and distract our life and confuse our goals in life
  • Focus on good counsel and we will achieve our goals

God bless you and your family. Praying for you and your dear ones.
