"The
Power of the Lambs in the midst of Wolves"
1) The reality of
Wolves and Lambs
a)
From the beginning of creation both lambs and Wolves are existing. Normally
Wolves are considered to be more powerful than the Lambs.
b)
Thousands and Thousands of lambs have been attacked, killed and Eaten by
wolves. Even then the wolves could not destroy the whole race of the lambs.
c)
There is no record of lambs attacking the wolves even at least once. No
resistance is shown towards the wolves. Even then wolves have not become the
kings of the forest to control everything. They too are monitored by someone
else and sacred of something else.
d)
In spite of all the casualties the lambs are on rise and their number is always
more than the wolves in any time of the History.
2) The Logic of
Wolves and Sheep to the Followers of Jesus
a)
Jesus sending lambs into the midst of Wolves will follow the same logic.
Whatever may be the power of the wolves, ultimately they can do nothing,
because with the lamb the Shepherd is always found. With wolves no one else,
only the wolves are found and at times they fight among themselves.
b)
The Church’s position was always like "Lambs in the midst of Wolves" in
the beginning of its existence, in the middle ages and even now. The disciple
of Jesus in today’s world faces the same situation that of Lambs in the midst
of wolves.
c)
Church grows and becomes strong only when there is a situation of 'Lambs in the
midst of Wolves'. In the History, the Church has always seen its growth because
of its position as 'Lambs were in the midst of wolves".
d)
" Lambs in the midst of Wolves" is a sign of the living church,
active church, growing church, Martyrs Church, wounded Church, and Finally the
Christ's Church. It’s a genuine and original church.
3) 'Lambs in the
midst of wolves' is also a context of survival
a)
A situation of survival is found in this context. There is no question of
remaining silent. One has to fight back for his existence.
b)
Our Modern era is just like a war field with regard to many issues. Among them Religion
comes first. Our situation is like sheep in the midst of wolves. The only
method to fight back is "PRAYER"
c)
Consumerism, Materialism, Individualism, and seeking Pleasure are some the
modern wolves which bounce on us to destroy us. We need to be careful
e)
Our life is another war field. Continuous fight is taking place between sheep
and wolf. That is body and soul. Depends on the importance given to each area
it will grow and rule our life. When we Feed Soul it will help us to make our
life Holy.
f)
Two ways to fight the battle: a) wise like serpent, b) Simple like Dove. Wisdom
will make us alert and simplicity will make us great.
4) COVID19 a Modern
Wolf
a)
COVID19 is another modern powerful wolf which is trying to destroy the various lambs.
Lambs signify various things in this particular context. For example

Human beings
·
Our Economy, business,
·
Immunity System, health
·
Relationship
·
Family bond
·
Our religious practices
·
Our daily work
b)
These are some of the Lambs who are under the terrible treat of the wolf of
COVID19. But one thing is sure that only the Lambs will win the fight and our Shepherd
Jesus our Lord and Master will lead us to the safe destiny
c)
Let's fight like a brave sheep to liberate ourselves from the mouth of wolves. Let
us be the strong and genuine lambs of This Church.
