Gospel – Matthew 15: 21-28

“Crumbs" which became the turning point in Woman's Life"

1) Crumbs are insignificant things

• Crumbs are very small and insignificant pieces of things which escape our attention
• Nobody thinks of collecting them and preserving them since their use is very limited
• On the contrary they are thrown out or disposed, since their limited scope and usefulness  

2) Crumbs attain the significant place in expressing the Faith

• Today's Gospel we see that the 'crumbs' became the very important and significant thing, which changed the entire situation.
•  At the outset ‘crumbs’ are referred to the small pieces of Children's food. But in a deeper level Crumbs are referred to the faith of the woman
• It becomes the instrument to check the true intention and the true level of faith of the woman. It is through the ‘crumbs’ that the faith of the woman becomes visible and made known to the whole world
• As we analyze the whole episode we see a close connection between the ‘Crumbs’ and the faith of the woman

3) This 'crumbs' somehow connects the woman to the person of Jesus.

• On the one hand crumbs deepens the faith of the Woman on Jesus
• On the other hand Jesus was able to test the real intention of the woman, her faith and finally Jesus was able to perform a miracle in favors of the woman
• So we can say that the ‘Crumbs’ became a bridge between Jesus and Woman and woman was able to move towards Jesus through this Crumbs/Bridge and the blessings of God came to the life of the woman through this bridge

4) The Power of the Small things

•  Jesus speaks about the Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed, yeast or a valuable Perl. All these are very small things.
• Crumbs are also very small in size. But they become the important thing in today’s Gospel and we can see the change that took place in and through the ‘Crumbs’
• In the Kingdom of God small things are very powerful and they convey a deeper message to us. The same point was proved even in the today’s Gospel through the Crumbs
• In other words we can say, Kingdom of God is Like a Crumbs which became instrument to bring a great change in the life of the woman and also in our lives

5) Crumbs Takes the place of Foundation

• In fact crumbs are the foundation of everything
• We always begin with crumbs and then we grow
• Crumbs also refers a small and in significant effort by human being and the Generosity of Gods goodness in forming and guiding for the human being

6) Everything is made out of Crumbs

• Ultimately everything is made out of thousands of crumbs. There is nothing else which could be found other than crumbs
• When all the crumbs come together and work together things happen.
• Even so called big thing is nothing but the several Crumbs which are arranged in a particular way, which gives a particular shape to a final Product. So the logic of the Crumbs works in every living and non living being

7) Crumbs in My Life

• In woman's life ‘crumbs’ gave new life to her and to her family. What about my situation
• Do I value the importance of the crumbs in my Life?
• Do my crumbs connect me to Jesus to grow in Holiness?
• Woman only asked for Crumbs but God blessed her with great things. Do I believe thing in my life?
• Will the Crumbs Change my life? Are they enough for to express and to deepen my faith?
• We need to reflect about the Philosophy and Theology of the Crumbs in our lives
