One needs to walk on the water in order to come to Jesus

GOSPEL THOUGHTS

18th Week – Monday

Gospel – Matthew 14: 22-33

One needs to walk on the water in order to come to Jesus

*1) Peters walk on the Water*

When Peter realised that it was Jesus who was walking on the water, Peter wanted to walk on the water and go to Jesus. So he requested Jesus to command him to come to Jesus.

Jesus said "Yes". That is why He jumped into the water and started to walk towards Jesus

Initially Peter succeeded in walking on the water and to move towards Jesus

He might have felt Happy to go to Jesus

*2) Walking on the water is not an easy thing*

Walking on the water is difficult. Swimming is easy.

Even then Peter had to walk on the Water to reach Jesus. There wasn't any other alternative for Peter to reach Jesus

So walking on the water becomes a necessary thing to reach Jesus

*3) Peters walking was challenged by the mighty waves*

As Peter started to walk  mighty waves arose in the water. So Peter got scared and he started to drown in the water

He could not walk on the waves as a result he was drowning

*4) Our life is equal to Walking on the Water*

Life is like Water. Everyone has to walk on this water. One can't think of completing his life without going through this water or walking on this water

As we walk on this Water, So called life we are challenged by various waves.

*5)Our life is challenged by various waves*

Many of us are challenged by the

  • waves of worldly possessions,
  • Waves Authority
  • Waves of power
  • Waves of name
  • Waves of pride
  • Waves of bodily pleasures
  • Waves of anger and revenge
  • Waves of greed

All these are powerful waves which makes us to fear and to lose our focus on Jesus

*6) When there were waves Peter saw only waves and lost his focus on Jesus*

The problems become more important than the  Focus on Jesus

Even in our life when we look at only the waves we lose the focus and we will end up in deep trouble

So we need to focus our view on Jesus, even in the midst of deep troubles

*7) When Peter had a problem he cried out Jesus*

Peter did not believe in his own power to save himself when he encountered troubles

He cried out Jesus, for help and Jesus was there to help.

Even when we encounter the problem we need to cry to Jesus for help than believing in our own strengths and powers

When we cry out Jesus is there to help all the time

*8) Peter never gave up the battle even in the midst of great trouble*

He tried even at the last moment asking Jesus' Help. That's how he was able to succeed

*9) Jesus was not very far from Peter*

He was rather quite near to Peter

Jesus becomes so near to Peter when he was in danger

So Jesus is very close to us when we are in real danger. Are we able to believe this?

*God bless you and your family. Praying for you and your dear onces*
