The Concept of Binding and Loosing

1) The meaning of Binding

Bind” in Greek is translated “dĕō.” It has enormous implications for followers of Christ as it means “to forbid or prohibit.” 

2) The meaning of loosing

Loose” in Greek is translated “luo.” It means “to release from bondage.” Jesus said, “Whatever you loose on earth, will be loosed in heaven.” Spiritually speaking, who needs to be released from bondage in this world? To be set free in Christ? Those still enslaved to sin.

3) Those Things which are forbidden here also forbidden in heaven

These are some of the things which are forbidden

Judgemental attitude

Revengeful attitude

Gossip

non-reconciliation 

Refusing one to forgive 

These things are forbidden here. They are also forbidden in heaven 

4) The mission of Liberation

The concept of loosing speaks about the liberation

First of all we need to liberate ourselves from the bad things 

Secondly we need to help others who are struggling to liberate themselves from the clutches of sin and slavery 

5) Along with Peter all have the responsibility to bind and to loose

All have the responsibility of controlling the forbidden things in ones own life and to liberate oneself from the vices and from the slavery of sin

Binding and loosing is a continuous struggle to in order to grow in our life 

Since Binding and loosing has a direct reference to Heaven, we need to pay attention to these things in our life 

The concepts of Binding and loosing are necessary to build the Kingdom of God

6) Am I ready

Am I ready to implement the concepts of binding and loosing in my life? 

Does they make any sense to my life? 

What are the things in my life which need binding? 

What are the things in my life which need loosening/liberation?
