There is nothing to claim that "This is Mine"

Gospel Thoughts

22nd Week : Saturday

GOSPEL Luke - 6: 1- 5

1COR 4 : 6-15

St Teresa of Kolkata - Saint of the day

There is nothing to claim that SOMETHING IS MINE

What do You have that you did not receive? - 1 cor 4:7

1) The concept of - This is mine - is foolish

Is there anything in this world that is mine and mine alone?

Some people may say there are so many things which belong to me and whatever belongs to me is mine

But a careful analysis will tell us there is nothing which is mine in this world

The concept of *This is mine* is a foolish concept

2) There is nothing which belongs to me

The birth I have received from my parents - its not mine

The entire material/physical body with all its aspects is the gift of my parents to me - its not mine

The surname which I have is the gift of my family - its not mine

The beautiful name which I have is given my parents - its not mine

The talents, the skills and other abilities are the gift from others - they are not mine

All the senses of the body and its special gifts like, sight, taste, capacity to hear, to see, to feel, to understand, to smell are the costliest gifts given to us without any cost by God - therefore they are not mine

The life which I have is not mine - its from God

The Soul which I have has come from God - its not mine

Then What is mine?

3) Things which are outside of me - are not mine

Sometimes we say, this property is mine - but no property claims that it belongs to such a such person

At times we say *this money is mine* but no money claims that someone is its master

We say this wealth, gold and other worldly things are mine - but none of these claim that they belong to such a such person?

Then what is mine?

4) Everything is pure gift from God and from another

This is the fact of life. There is nothing that belongs to me.

Everything I have is purely a gift from God or from another

The moment we realise this truth, we liberate ourselves from any types of attachment and we become more holy and grateful God.

5) Gifts from the beloved have special value

When we receive gifts from our beloved people we take care of it and protect it from any harm

We value the gift and also the one who gives the gift

If so we need to be grateful God for every gift that we have in our life and we need to take care of these gifts for the greater Glory of God

6) What is mine then?

To this question answer is found in the Gospel of Matthew 25 : 31-46

Here Jesus says

You gave me food
You gave me to drink
You gave me a wonderful welcome
You gave me clothing
You gave me care
You gave me your company when you visited me in the prison

This is what we have at the end of our life.

Only the good things we can say that they are mine - because Jesus says that you gave me

But the question is do I have these things to claim in my life and boldly to say that *they are mine*

7) St Theresa of Kolkatta - Saint of the Day

We will be judged according to the love we have put into our work

If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one.

If you judge people, you have no time to love them.

There are no great things, only small things with great love. Happy are those.

Peace begins with a smile.

God bless you and your family. Praying for you and your dear ones
