Gospel – Luke 11:15-26
First Reading Gal 3:7-14
Unity is Divine Virtue, Division is Satan's Vice
1) Unity is God's Work
God is a symbol of unity. The best example is Trinity. Trinitarian symbol is perfect sign of unity
In Trinitarian God we see the perfect union which is the foundation of Christian Spirituality.
Wherever there is unity there is God's presence. Unity could be another name for God.
2) Division is Devil's Work
The opposite of unity is division. By nature division is devilish, because it was the devil/Satan for the first time brought a division between Adam and Eve and between God and Human beings
Division gives rise to misunderstanding and finally it creates lots of uneasiness and it spoils the healthy relationship.
So division is the symbol of Devil and wherever there is division, there is Satan.
3) One who divides is a Satan's Follower
Since division belongs to Satan, one who works for division is a follower of the Satan
Satan works for division and destruction so also one who works for division works for destruction and devastation.
4) Division causes internal Fights
First of all division creates a some kind of uneasiness and misunderstanding
Such misunderstanding gives rise to internal fights and such fights brings down the unity.
Division weakens the unity of the family or between the people and finally loses its strength to challenge the snares of the devil
5) Unity is a symbol of Strength
Unity boosts the strength or unity is the secret of Strength.
Where there is strength one can do any good work and one can face any challenge.
6) Unity between mind and Thought
Unity between what we think and what we speak
Unity between what we preach and what we practice
Unity between our actual lived life and what we think about ideal holy Christian life
Unity between our bodily life and spiritual life
Bringing unity between these above mentioned things is very much necessary.
So what is the level of unity in my life in above mentioned things?
7) Be careful about the snares of the Devil to divide
- Divide your relationship between God and others
- Divide your relationship between body and Spirit
- Divide your relationship with nature
- Divide your relationship with Good and Holy things
- Divide your relationship with Jesus, saints and Holy things
Never allow yourself to get divided from good, holy and eternal things
The moment you are divided you are like a cut off branch from the vine which is ultimately dries and thrown in the fire to be burn.
Stay united always with the Lord
God bless you and your family. Praying for you and your dear ones.
