From the Cross Jesus says : I Thirst

Gospel Thoughts*

*Holy Week: Holy/Good Friday*

*GOSPEL - John (18: 1-19: 42)*

*First Reading - Is 52:13-53:12*

*Second Reading - Heb 4:14-16; 5:7-9*

*From the Cross Jesus says : I Thirst*

*1) What type of Thirst Jesus is having?*

From the Cross one of the things which is said by Jesus is *I thirst*

This thirst could be understood as physical thirst. This is only at the peripheral level

At the deeper level the Thirst of Jesus could be understood in a different way

*2)  some of the meaning of  I Thirst*

When Jesus says these words from the Cross it shuld be understood in the context

*I Thirst* for your Love
*I Thirst* for your repentance
*I Thirst* for your humility
*I Thirst* for your right decision
*I Thirst* for your change of life
*I Thirst* for your faithfulness
*I Thirst* for your commitment, courage, and simply
*I Thirst* for your mercy
*I Thirst* kind words
*I Thirst* for your kindness
*I Thirst* for your service, generosity,  sacrifice

*3) Jesus thirsts - do I thirst?

What about my thirst?

What are the things to which I am thirsty?

Does my thirst correspondents to the thirst  of Jesus?

Some are thirsty for power, position, money, pleasure, luxury, name and fame

Some are thirsty for pride, revenge, anger, hatred, etc

Some are thirsty for love, service, care, concern, humility, sacrifice and to  the Gospel values

In which area my thirst is hidden?

*4) Thirst can't be postponed*

There are things which can be postponed.

But thirst can't be postponed.

If the thirst is not treated correctly at that moment, it may lead into dangerous situations

There is no person who is known for postponing the thirst

So urgency of the reply is very much involved in  it.

*5) Jesus' thirst continues even today*

If so will I be ready to quench, Jesus' thirst

In every area this thirst is seen.

What about my reply?

Does my life has any values which quenches the thirst of Jesus

*6) Only with this Thirst Friday becomes Good*

From the Cross, the words *I Thirst*  gives the foundation to a ordinary day into extraordinary day

The horrible Friday, the criminalized Friday, the bloody Friday becomes *Good Friday* because of these Words

Even today Jesus  thirsts to make this ordinary Friday, to make it a Good Friday one needs to quench the thirst of Jesus in different level

*Wish you a happy Good Friday*

*God bless you and your family. Praying for you and your dear ones*
