Rabbi, it is good to be here - Have I felt this, like Peter?

*Feast of the Transfiguration of Jesus*

*GOSPEL - Mk 9:2-10*

*First Reading - Dn 7:9-10, 13-14*

*Second Reading - 2 Pt 1:16-19*

*Rabbi, it is good to be here - Have I felt this, like Peter?*

*1) Peter's Experience*

In the scene of transfiguration, there are many things, which are happening in the Holy Mountain

But there comes a unique experience, which has a special significance and relevance yo our life 

That Peter's experience of being in the Holy mountain. He says *Rabbi, it is good that we are here*. This experience has a special importance to our life 

*2) What is the speciality of the place?*

It was a place of prayer, where Jesus and His disciples went to pray 

It was a place of community prayer, because Jesus and His disciples prayed together 

It was a place of transfiguration, where the transfiguration of Jesus took place 

It was a place where there was a heavenly and divine experience, which changed the situation of the place 

It was a place where the divine and holy people like Moses and Elijah appeared

It was a place where the Heaven came down in the form of Holy people like Moses and Elijah

It was a place where the glory of God revealed

It was a place where the voice of God was heard, *This is my beloved son, Listen to Him*

In such a Wonderful and Holy place, Peter felt that it is better to be there than anywhere else 

*3) Mount Tabor in our Life*

We can't go to real mount Tabor, where Jesus was transfigured. But in other words, every place where the above mentioned things take place, is equal to Mount Tabor. 

If so, we can conclude that the following places are equal to mount Tabor in our life 

*The Holy Places* : Our Churches, prayer halls, Shrines, pilgrim centres, and Retreat centres take the place of Mount Tabor 

*Our Houses*: Our houses are just like temples. Because it is a scared place, holy place and a special place where the transfiguration of the person takes place and should take place

*Our Schools* : They can be called as holy centres of transfiguration, because our life gets shaped from the School 

*Our Society* : We can not live in isolation. We are in the society and society plays a very important role in our life. So society takes a place of Mount Tabor in our life 

*Our Conscience* : This is the most sacred place and the Centre which promotes person for transformation

A person who listens to the conscience, will definitely goes through a transformation, which helps him/her to shape ones life 

*4) Do I feel like : It is Good to be Here?*

The above experience in the above mentioned place I'd very important. 

Unless we feel that *it is good to be here* we can not live in a peaceful way. 

The moment that I feel *I don't feel to be here* there is something wrong, which hinders my growth 

So it is better to evaluate whether I feel like Peter in the above mentioned places in my Life 

*Think about it*
