Gospel Thoughts
*Ordinary Season : 24th Week - Thursday*
*GOSPEL - Lk 7:36-50*
*First Reading - 1 Tm 4:12-16*
*Do I realise that I am great debtor?*
*1) Two debtors in Today's Gospel*
Debtor is a person, who owes something to another Person
In today's Gospel Jesus presents two debtors. One owes a little amount and the other one owes more amount
In the process of discussion, the conclusion is that one who owes much to the master, has more responsibility and when the Master gave concession to both, the one who owes more shows more reverence than the other
This is because of the great amount he owed to the Master
*2) We are all debtors*
God is the Master and we are all the debtors.
We have practically received everything from God with paying anything.
If there is a great debtors, in this universe it must be man, towards God the creator
All valuable things along with our life, sight, external senses, internal organs and everything is given by God.
So we are great debtors
*3) Have I ever realised that I am debtor?*
This is the great fact that I need to realise in my life
The greatest tragedy of life could be, when I fail to realise that I am debtor and act like a creditor of my own life
So realising that I am great debtor in front of God is the greatest consciousness that a person can have in His/her life
*4) The importance of realisation that I am debtor*
When I realise that I am great debtor lots of changes come into our life
The debtor of the Gospel finally ended up showing more love to the Master because of the great debt.
When we realise that we are great debtor, we become more humble, we become more out going, simple, generous, forgiving, service minded, and ready to sacrifice for the sake of the other
So this realisation is must and we need to try to have this realisation
*5) What is my realisation?*
What is the attitude that I project in my life?
Creditor, debtor, or great debtor?
What do you think that what are the things that you owe to God, owe to your fellow brothers and to the society?
There is nothing mine. Everything is given by some one else - do you agree with this point?
*Think about it*
*God bless you and your family. Praying for you and your dear ones*
