Gospel Thoughts
*Ordinary Season : C Cycle : 5th Week - Friday*
*GOSPEL - John 2:1-12*
*First Reading Is 66:10-14*
*Feast of our Lady of Lourdes*
*The presence of Mary*
*1) The Mother of Jesus was there*
The Gospel of the Day has this Expression that the Mother of Jesus was there
The Gospel specifically says Jesus and His disciples were invited to the Wedding but Mary was there
Whether she was invited or not but she was there
*2) Importance of Mary's being there*
Whether one invites Mary or not, she is there at that moment
Her presence in the wedding celebration was very important, because something went wrong
Since she was there, no casualties happened, because the presence of Mary brings about a great change
In this sense the presence of Mary becomes more important than anything else
*3) Mary's presence at the most crucial time of the wedding*
The Gospel shows that the presence of Mary at an important time
When there was a scarcity of the Wine, Mary comes into the scene. This was the most crucial time of the wedding
Since Mary was there everything went on very well.
*4) No invitation*
There is no reference in the Gospel whether there was invitation to Mary or not.
Whether one invites or not, Mary is always present in our life at the time of crisis, problems, defeat and despair.
As a mother she needs no invitation, but she is simply present to take care of her children
*5) Mary's apparition in Lourdes*
Her appearance in the Lourdes, not because of our invitation. She appears to Bernadette at the time of need and crisis.
The appearance at the Lourdes shows that, she is very much involved in life of the Human beings
She needs no invitation to help and to intercede for our needs
Apparition at Lourdes, not because of our invitation but it is the generosity of God, to save the human kind.
*6) My life and Mary*
Mary is present, in our life every time but specially, at the time of crisis.
She needs no invitation for helping some, and there were no formalities in helping someone.
What about my life and the concept of invitation?
Do I need an invitation to help some one?
Do I create a scene because I was not invited for something?
Do I have the quality of serving without any invitation but understanding the situation?
What is my spontaneity in serving??
*Think about it*
*God bless you and your family. Praying for you and your dear ones*
