Gospel Thoughts*

*Lenten Season : C Cycle : Third Week: Sunday*

*GOSPEL - Lk 13:1-9*

*FIRST READING - Ex 3:1-8a, 13-15*

*SECOND READING 1 Cor 10:1-6, 10-12*

*Remove the sandals from your feet*

*1)Mosses was asked to remove the Sandals*

As Moses was tending the flock of His Father in Law, he saw a burning bush, which was not consumed by the fire

So Mosses went near the Bush to see its speacility

As he approached near the bush, God called him and said,  *Come no nearer! Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground*

Since the Ground was holy he was asked to remove the sandals.

*2) Sandals represents the unholy or Dirty thing*

Sandals we use in the feet. It is likely that they become dirty.

Such dirty things can't be used in the holy place. One is supposed to remove and enter the Holy place

*3) Sandals in my Life*

The concept of the sandals has a very deep meaning to our life

There are varieties of sandals which we wear in our daily life. Following may be some of them

The sandal of jealousy
The sandal of pride
The sandal of greed
The sandal of revenge
The sandal of anger
The sandal of gossip
The sandal of hatred
The sandal of laziness
The sandal of desire of wordly things
The sandal of criticism

We are supposed to remove these sandals to entre into the holy Place

*4) Lent is a Special time to remove the Sandals*

Lent is a special time given to us  by God to remove the various dirty sandals from our life

With the spirit of prayer, fasting and Almsgiving one can remove the sandals from ones life

Removing of sandals is a continuous process. It needs lots of efforts and commitment.

*5) Am I ready to remove the Sandals?*

At times we have a wrong conception that sandals protect us from harm

But only good sandals can protect us.

So the question is what type of sandals we need to remove from our life??

"How do I remove the sandals from my life??*

*Think about it*

*God bless you and your family. Praying for you and your dear ones*
