GOSPEL THOUGHTS
*Ordinary Season : 2nd Week - Thursday*
*Gospel : Mk 3:7-12*
*First Reading : Heb 7:25—8:6*
*Jesus asked His Disciples to have a boat ready for Him*
*1) Jesus' Request to have a boat*
The Gospel of the day presents to us a scene, where Jesus is at the Sea shore and a large number of people had gathered from different places
All these people had come to meet Jesus, to hear the Word of God and to get rid off from their sickness
At this moment Jesus asks His disciples to have a boat ready for Him, so that He could preach the Gospel to the people who had gathered there.
*2) Jesus needs a boat even Today*
Jesus who is totally involved in the Mission of the Father asks a boat from the disciples
The same Jesus who is equally or more involved in the mission of the Father, today asks me to have a boat for Him
What is my response to the request of Jesus?
What type of boat I have with me to offer to Jesus?
*3) The following things could serve as boat from my life*
In fact, boat helped Jesus to proclaim the Good News of the Lord
The following could the boat in my life
The boat of my willingness
The boat of my humility
The boat of my service
The boat of my sacrifice
The boat of my generous heart
The boat of my good thought
The boat of my pure heart
The boat of my pure mind
The boat of forgiveness
The boat of courage
The boat of simplicity
The boat of love
The boat of kindness
All these boats will help Jesus to proclaim the Good NEWS through my life
*4) Need of boat - a participartory method*
Jesus could have done His without the boat also
Jesus had the capacity for the same
Still Jesus asks his disciples to have a boat, which shows the participatory method, where Jesus involves his disciples in His mission
This involvement is a training for them, and to work as a team. So Jesus showed that Mission work is a team work and not a individual work
*5) Where is my Boat?*
I need to keep ready the boat for Jesus
Where is boat?
Is it in a good condition to use for the mission?
If not in a good condition, how long I need to set it right? So that Jesus can use the boat??
How large is my boat?
*Think about it*
*God bless you and your family. Praying for you and your dear ones*
