GOSPEL THOUGHTS
*Easter Season : Third Week : Saturday*
*Gospel : Mt 11:25-30*
*First Reading : 1 Jn 1:5 — 2:2*
*If we say, “We are without sin,” we deceive ourselves*
*1) The loss of the sense of Sin*
"The greatest sin today is that men have lost the sense of sin.” Pope Pius XII
When you lose the sense of sin, you also lose the "sense of the Kingdom of God" and in its place - the Pope said - there emerges an "anthropological vision" where the person thinks "I can do anything.”
Pope Pius XII famously once said that "the evil of this civilization" -- our civilization--is "the loss of the sense of sin: we can do anything, we will resolve anything! The power of man is substituted for the glory of God."
*2) No Sin in me - Mentality is dangerous*
All of us are sinners. No one can say that one is without sin
If some one develops that he/she is without sin, or one is not affected with Sin, such an mentality will lead person to doom
Such a person will become very proud, and he/she will act as if one is God
One may think that, one can control everything
*3) Benefits of accepting one as Sinner*
Such a person is able to reflects ones own weakness
Such a person will not depends on his own strength. But he/she will depend on God
Such a person will remember God, and he/she will give first place to God
Such a person also will understand the nature of Sin and its effects in ones life
*4) Sense of Sin and my Life*
What is the sense of sin in my life?
Am able to realise the sense of sin in my life?
Do I act as if that there is no sin in my life?
Do I have the mentality that whatever I do is always best and good?
Have I become proud, because I have lost the sense of Sin?
*5) One can over come from sin only by becoming aware of its gravity*
When a person loses the sense of Sin, He/she commits more sins than before
Only by knowing the gravity of sin, one can over come from it
To know the gravity of the Sins one must have the strong sense of the awareness of the Sins
So what is my awareness about my Sins??
*Think about it*
