He is out of his mind.” - Why?

GOSPEL THOUGHTS

*Ordinary Season  : 2nd Week: Saturday*

*Gospel : Mk 3:20-21*

*First Reading : 2 Sm 1:1-4, 11-12, 19, 23-27*

*“He is out of his mind.” - Why?*

*1) He is out of His Mind*

The Gospel of the day has this peculiar statement

This statement is referred to Jesus

Interestingly, this comment comes from His own relatives and family members

In ordinary understanding, it simply means that one is mentally not sound or mentally imbalanced person

*2) Various reasons for this Argument*

He broke the Sabbath laws to give a man rest from his disability by healing him. So according to Pharisees, He broke the Sabbath

He spoke directly to demons and cast them out. That's why he was accused that he is possessed by devil

He forgave a paralytic of his sins by simply saying he is forgiven. They believed only God can forgive. So how can he forgive? He must be out of His mind

He mixed himself with Tax collectors, Sinners, prostitutes, Samaritans, widows and also with women. Such things were unheard during His time. So he must be out of His mind

He chose a bunch ordinary people who were uneducated, fishermen, tax collectors and having ordinary status in the society.  He chose such people as future  leaders. That's why he was out of His mind.

By all accounts He looked insane! That's why they said, he is out of His mind

*3) The logic of the World and the Logic of God*

The Logic of God, appears to the World as abnormal and insane

The Logic of the World, does not corresponds to the Logic of God. Those people who saw,  Jesus from the Worldly logic saw him as an insane person

One has to have a different logic to understand the Logic of God. From the World Logic,  if one tries to undu the Logic of God, it appears abnormal

*4) Comments from His own Relatives*

This particular, thought is coming from, His own relatives, which was more painful than anything else

His own people could not understand him, his mission and his approach

Those people who could have supported him, spoke against Him, saying *He is out of Mind*

*5) Out of Mind Approach*

One who wishes to Follow Jesus, one has to be ready to face the above approach, that is out of mind approach

*Only Out of mind* approach to a follower of Christ will help to follow Jesus and to proclaim Jesus

Am I ready to face *out of Mind* approach in my life?

Am I ready to have such a title for the sake of Jesus?

*Think about it*

*God bless you and your family. Praying for you and your dear ones*
