Why Jesus took Baptism in the River Jordan?

*Why Jesus took Baptism in the River Jordan?*

*1) Baptism is for Sinners*

We take the Baptism in order to save ourselves from the Original Sin 

Jesus had no sin. Baptism was not necessary for him. Yet he received, because he took upon himself the entire sins of the humanity u

Upon Himself and received Baptism from John

Thus He instituted the sacrament of Baptism for the forgiveness of sins of the people of God

*2) Its a reminder for us*

Baptism of Jesus is a reminder for all of us that we are sinners 

All of us need the saving grace of God, in order to have salvation

The Baptism of Jesus reminds us every time that we need to depend on God, and only God can save us.

*3) Jesus' Baptism and Water*

In the River Jordan, When Jesus entered to take Baptism, the Water becomes blessed because of the divine power of Jesus 

Thus the water of the entire universe, becomes a instrument of Baptism, which would wash away the sins of the Humanity

Since then, Water is used in the sacrament of Baptism, in order to  wash away the sins of the humanity 

*4) Baptism of Jesus reminds us the need of Humility*

Jesus was God. Absolutely there was no need of Baptism. Yet he took baptism from John 

This shows the importance of humility. So Jesus' Baptism also reminds us the need and importance of humility in our life 

*5) Anointing of the Holy Spirit*

Jesus didn't start his ministry all of a sudden. He prepared himself well for the ministry 

Baptism becomes a important event to begin His public ministry 

At Baptism, he was anointed with the Holy Spirit, Which strengthened him for His commitment 

Baptism of Jesus also reminds us the need of anointing of the Holy Spirit

*6) Revelation of Trinity*

At Baptism the entire Trinity was present. It speaks many things about Godhead

The unity which is needed for ministry

The revelation of the Trinity 

The role of each person of the trinity 

Involvement of the entire trinity in the redemption work 

We can't live with out trinity 

Let the Baptism of the Lord, inspire us to learn these thruths and to live a holy Life
