GOSPEL THOUGHTS

*Easter Season: Easter Sunday*

*First Reading : Acts 10:34a, 37-43*

*SECOND READING -Col 3:1-4 or I Cor 5:6b-8*

*Mary Magdalene's experience of the Risen Lord*

*1)  Mary's Journey towards the Tomb*

Mary wanted to see the Lord. That's why she went early in the morning

It was still dark. Yet she was not frightened of the darkness. Because Jesus was there in her mind and heart

When Jesus is there in the heart and  nothing can stop in meeting Jesus

*2) Mary's worry*

There is no doubt that she wanted to see Jesus

But here thoughts were about the tomb

Who will roll back the heavy stone from the entrance

How to remove the stone? Who will come to help her?

If she is unable to remove the stone what is the other alternative?

So she had lots of questions in her mind and heart

*3) The great Surprise for Mary*

When she reached the Tomb, she had different experience

She found that the stone had already taken away

The tomb is wide open. She was totally confused and didn't know what to do

Yet she checks the tomb and to her surprise, the tomb was empty

*4) The empty Tomb experience*

Mary Magdalene clearly tells the disciples after departing from the tomb *“They have taken the Lord from the tomb*

Here Mary Magdalene does not say that the dead body of Jesus had been taken away

But she says *The Lord*. They have taken away the Lord

So Jesus is still alive to Mary Magdalene

Finally She finds the Risen Lord because of her deep desire to meet the Lord

*5) How about my life?*

Mary had deep desire to meet the Lord. How about my desire?

Mary was confused in her serach for the Lord. Yet she didn't give up. What about me? When I am confused do I give up?

She tries to verify the facts at the tomb. Still she asks the help of the disciples to know the reality. How about me? Do I seek the others help?

Mary was firm in her serach for Jesus. Finally she found. What about me?

*Think about it*
