Need of Keep trying to see some Good things always

GOSPEL THOUGHTS

*Ordinary Season: Twenty Fifth Week : Thursday*

*Gospel : Lk 9:7–9*

*First Reading : Eccl 1:2–11*

*Responsorial Psalm : Ps 90:3-4, 5-6, 12-13, 14 and 17bc*

*Need of Keep trying to see some Good things always*

*1) Herod kept trying to see Jesus*

The Gospel tells us about, Herod's worry and his efforts to see who the new prophet was

There were lots of good and great things were happening arround Herod. So he was perplexed and wanted to see this new prophet

Since he had already murdered John the Baptist, he was all the more worried because, some people were saying, John the Baptist had come back

So Herod was utterly in confusion. So he was worried and trying to see the new prophet

*2) Intention of Herod*

He was trying to see Jesus not with Good intention.

In fact he was worried about his future, power and authority

He thought, if the new powerful man comes, he may lose his Authority.

So he wanted to find out this man, and if there is any threat for his power, then to eliminate him

Intention was very crooked and malicious

*3) Great Things arround Us*

There are many great things which are happening arround us

First of all great many miracles are happening in our life on day to day basis

There are many great good things happening in our families, in the life of our children, and in the life of our dear ones

There are also good things happening in our neighborhood

There are also good things happening in the society where we live and in the parish community, where we belong

There are also great many things happening in the world arround us

*4) Need to trying to see Good and great Things*

Unless we make some conscious effort we may not be able to see the great things

First of all, we should have a clean mind and heart to see the good and great things which are happening in and arround us

A negative mind set will not help us in finding out the good and positive things

*5) Need of Doing good things*

In the Gospel of the day we saw,  good and great things also caught the attention of the crooked King Herod

Good things have a power to break and enter any sorts of evil heart

Before Good things, no evil or malicious heart can block the vision of Good things

So, doing good can catch the attention of others, which can help us to change the situation in and arround us

*6) Where do I belong?*

There are four categories of people we find in today's Gospel

Jesus who was doing great and good things

John the Baptist, who died as martyr, for the sake of truth and justice

The Group of people who create opinion about John the Baptist, about prophets, or about Jesus

The wicked King Herod, who wanted to see Jesus with an evil intention. A king who was disturbed by seeing Good things

Where do I belong??
