GOSPEL THOUGHTS
*Ordinary Season: Twenty Seventh Week : Thursday*
*Gospel : Lk 11:5-13*
*First Reading : Gal 3:1-5*
*Responsorial Psalm : Luke 1:69-70, 71-72, 73-75*
*God comes at midnight*
*1) Midnight mindset*
Usually at midnight, people take rest
All the work is halted. Only next day it will resume
At midnight, situation becomes very scary, and people would like to be inside the house than out
Only in emergency people do call others, when it comes to midnight. Otherwise they wait for next day.
*2) Situation at Mightnight*
The door has already been locked
Children and I are already in bed.
I cannot get up to give you anything.
Don't bother me anymore
It is almost like a concluded situation. Changes in this situation becomes very difficult
*3) Situation of Mightnight in Life*
At times life is like a midnight
All the doors are closed
The doors of service, sacrifice, prayer, simplicity, truthfulness, forgiveness, Charity, generosity and the doors of Gospel values
Being in bed, refers taking rest. Not interested in doing any neither opening the door of life
The midnight mindset, *I cannot get up to give you anything.*
This attitude will not help us in anyway
*4) The opportunity for change*
On the one side, the Gospel shows the hurdles for changing the situation
On the otherhand, we see the change, because of the continuous persistence from another side .
The persistence of the friend sees an opportunity, to help the friend who has come to taking for his friend
Here we see the change in the midst of impossibility
*5) God's approach at midnight*
It does not mean that God does not have time during the day. He always has time, but we don't have time
The midnight approach of Jesus also shows that even at the 11th hour, God doesn't give up his battle for
Saving the person
Gospel shows the very narrow possibility of getting up and doing his work
Even then the impossibility was made possibility through various ways
*6) The readiness to getup at midnight*
The person in the Gospel, got up in the midnight, and did whatever was possibility for him
Am I ready to get up from life's midnight, because God is insisting you to change the changeless?
*7) The difficulty to Get up*
Doors are locked. Already taking rest in bed. I am unable to do anything. Don't bother me
When we apply this logic to our own life, the midnight situation makes us very difficult to get up and challenge the situation
But there is a way out, if one is ready to change ones mindset
Say to yourself, I can do something for the better future
Yes I can unlock the the doors of my life
I can get up from my bed
Need a different outlook to unlock the lock of my spiritual life
*Think about it*
*God bless you and your family. Praying for you and your dear ones*
