*Ordinary Season: Thirty Third Week : Monday*
*Gospel : Lk 18:35-43*
*First Reading : Rv 1:1-4; 2:1-5*
*Responsorial Psalm : Ps 1:1-2, 3, 4 and 6*
*Lord Help me to See*
*1) The Blind man*
The Gospel presents to us a person who was blind. Such a blind man was encountered by Jesus and finally he was healed by Jesus
One of the requests of the blind man was to receive his sight back. So he says to Jesus *“Lord, please let me see.”*
He received his sight back and he praised God for the same
*2) Deeper meaning of the sight*
Even though the incident speaks about the healing of the blind and receiving the physical sight of the eye, the sight also has very deep meaning in this context
It is not only the physical eyesight which is important but there is also deeper sight which is needed to see the mighty and greater things of God in our life
Let's analyze the deeper meaning of the sight
*3) Sight which made the blind man to follow Jesus*
When he received the physical eyesight, he not only saw that it was Jesus who cured him, but he also saw the need of following Jesus and praising God for the mighty deeds in life
To see these greater things mere physical sight not sufficient. But deeper spiritual sight or insight is necessary
Do I have such sight in my life?
*4) People saw greater things*
People who were present during the miracle had physical sight
But by seeing this miracle they began to praise God.
To see such great things and to praise God, mere physical eyesight not sufficient. But needs special deeper sight and spiritual sight is needed
*5) “Lord, please let me see: Miracles*
There are innumerable miracles happen every moment of my life. Eyes are able to see, able to talk, able to move, heart is working, mind is able to reason out
There are wonderful miracles happening evey moment of our life. But hardly people see them as miracles, or great works of God
To see them as miracles we need deeper sight
*6) “Lord, please let me see: my conscience*
With our physical eyesight one can't see our conscience. One needs special and higher level of sight to see the conscience
A life which fails to see the conscience, loses the purpose of life
*7) “Lord, please let me see.”*
Lord give me sight to see the following things
To see God in the nature
To see the pain of others
To see the needs of others
To see the loneliness of the elderly
To see the need of prayer
To see the value of humility
To see the providence of God
To see the value of simplicity in life
To see the value of service
To see good in others
Am I ready receive the spiritual sight to greater things in life
