GOSPEL THOUGHTS
*Advent Season: First Week : Friday*
*Gospel : Mt 9:27-31*
*First Reading : Is 29:17-24*
*Responsorial Psalm : Ps 27:1, 4, 13-14*
*“Do you believe that I can do this?”*
*1) A question to examine ourselves*
In today's Gospel we have this particular question
In fact this question was asked by Jesus to the blind men who followed Him
This is a question which is not only asked for those blind men, but it can be applied to us as well
This is a question which can be asked to any one at any situation to draw lessons from it
This is a question ultimately makes us to think about ourselves and our personality
*2) Multiple angles of this question*
From the Gospel we see one angle of the question. That is Jesus asking this question to the Blind men
This is a question, which God is asking to me
This is a question, which my self is asking to me
This is a question, which a particular situation is asking to me
This is a question, which my duty is asking to me
This is a question, which my commitment to Jesus is asking to me
This is a question, which a hopeless situation asking to me
This is a question, which my conscience can ask to me
This is a question, which the nature around me can ask
This is a question, which is tiny creature in the world arround me can ask me
This is a question, which *water* can ask me
This is a question which the *Air* created by God can ask me
This is a question, which the *Mud* arround carroundme
*3) God's Power and this Question*
Since this question was aJesusby Jesus to the blind, there is a possibility to doubt about Jesus' capacity to heal the blind men
But in no way, this is question to doubt about the capacity of Jesus
But it only gives us the opportunity to express our deep faith in Jesus
God is always powerful and there is nothing beyond Gods power.
This question only to reflect the depth of our faith
*4) The Aspect of Faith*
The aspect of faith is always related to human beings
When we relate with God, we need the aspect of faith.
The healing of the blind men always related to the aspect of faith
Finally it is the faith of the blind men which healed them
Jesus says *“Let it be done for you according to your faith.”*
*5) Beauty of Multiple approach*
Having multiple approach to this question will change the perspective of our life
This question in a way connects God, Neighbor and the Nature
This question helps us to have a balanced approach towards everything
So am I ready to believe in the power of God?
Am I ready to believe in the power of the self?
Am I ready to believe in the power of the other?
Am I ready to believe in the power of the nature?
Am I ready to believe in the power of every tiny creature in the Nature?
*Think about it*
