Gospel : Matthew 9:32-38
"The Power of the demonic to make a person Mute"
1) The Gospel of the day presents to us a demonic, which is powerful to make a person mute.
"A demoniac who could not speak was brought to Jesus, and when the demon was driven out the mute man spoke"
So this person was not able to speak anything
When a person is not able to speak
#communication becomes difficult
#Not easy to deal with the person
#Can't express anything to others
#Many those who are not able to speak feel useless
#They suffer physically, psychologically and emotionally
So the demon who makes the person mute, also makes him physically incapable of many things.
2) In the present day context the same demon is very powerful through various forms and it makes many people mute. The following are the examples
A) The demon of Lies: This is one of the powerful demon, which enters into many person. Such a demon makes a person mute about truth, and he is unable to speak truth
B) The demon of Gossip : This is another powerful demon which makes the person mute. Such a person is not able to speak the reality, rather this demon makes the person to spred the rumours
C) The Demon of Jealousy: Another powerful demon which makes the person mute. Such a person is not able to express the concern, care, love and support to the other
D) The demon of Revenge: When this demon enters ones life, he becomes mute to forgiveness and reconciliation
E) The demon of Anger : such a demon makes a person mute about peace and joyfulness
F) The Demon of miserliness makes a Peron mute with regard to sharing and showing concern to the other. Such a demon makes a person more crazy for acquiring things and hoarding of the same
G) The demon of Desire makes a person mute to simple way of life and makes a person slave to the things of the world
H) The demon of bodily pleasure makes a person mute to the holiness and purity of life
There are also other demons like
-Demon of negativity
-Demon of narrow mentality
-Demon of selfishness
-demon of cheating
-Demon of fraud
-Demon of abusive language
-demon of finding fault with others
-Demon of inequality, partiality, noncooperation, hatred, rigidity, self-righteousness and so on. All these demons make us mute of good things and they make us paralyzed about good things
3)When the Demonic was brought to Jesus, the demon could not challenge Jesus
Jesus drow out the demon and he was able to speak
Only Jesus could heal the person and he was able to speak
4) All the above demons which we have in life, can't get rid of them easily. We need a external power and support to drive out these demons
Our Lord and Master is ever ready to drive out these demons
Only one thing that we need to do is that, we need to go to Jesus and surrender these demons to Jesus. Definitely he will drive them away from our lives
5) We need to evaluate our life to find out which are the demons who dominate in our life and make us mute
Funding out these demons is not a easy task. It is difficult, because
-Either we don't accept that these demons are present in our lives
-or When some one brings to our notice about these demons we become very defensive and we negate the reality
- Or some times we feel more comfortable with these demons and their actions
-Getting rid of these demons is very challenging and it challenges our life
Only when we are ready to challenge our life and only when we are serious about our life we can succeed in driving out these demons and make our lives more meaningful and holy
God bless you and your family members. Praying for you and your dear ones.
