Gospel – Luke 10:38-42
First Reading Gal 1:13-24
Let's Welcome Jesus into Our Hearts
1) Two different Welcomes
There are two people who welcomed Jesus in two different ways.
Both ways are unique and they are very important.
2) Welcome into House and Welcome into Heart
Martha welcomed Jesus to her House. Mary welcomed Jesus in her Heart.
Welcome into heart is more important than welcome into house
It is easy to welcome the person into house, but it is very difficult to welcome the guest into the heart.
3) Welcome as guest and welcome as Lord
Martha welcomed Jesus as great guest. Mary welcomed Jesus her Lord and Savior.
4) Welcome through service and welcome through attentive listening
Martha’s welcome is seen in the service she gave to Jesus. Mary's welcome is seen in the attentive listening to Jesus
5) Welcome through the things and Welcome through the real person
In Martha’s welcome there were many things and she was worried a lot.
But in Mary’s welcome, giving company to the person and spending time with the person is seen
6) Welcome through Worldly things and Welcome through Spiritual things
Martha's welcome included many Worldly things. Mary's welcome includes many Spiritual and heavenly things
7) Welcome by giving things and Welcome by receiving heavenly things
Martha's welcome consists in giving many things. Mary's welcome consists in receiving great and valuable heavenly things.
8) Welcome through sumptuous food and welcome through heavenly food
Martha's warm welcome had tasty and sumptuous food. Mary's welcome had the taste of spiritual and heavenly things
9) Welcome through kitchen things and welcome through sitting at the feet
The kitchen and things in it played a major role in Martha's welcome. Sitting at the feet of the master and showing interest in spiritual things played a major role in Mary’s welcome.
10) Welcome through worry and tension and welcome through peaceful mind
Martha's welcome had many worries and tension. Mary’s welcome had a peaceful and clam atmosphere.
God bless you and your family. Praying for you and your dear ones.
