What do you have to say for yourself

Gospel Thoughts

*Christmas Season : January 2nd*

*GOSPEL - Jn 1:19-28*

*First Reading - 1 Jn 2:22-28*

*What do you have to say for yourself?*

*1) Saying something about self is very Difficult*

It is very easy to speak about others. One can speak at length, when it comes to speak about others

The moment one has to speak about the self, it becomes very difficult to speak.

*2) Unless one knows about His own self, can't speak anything*

The depth of the knowledge of the self will tell us, how much a person knows about Himself

So knowing of the self becomes very necessary to say something about the self.

*3) John's identity is nothing but a voice*

When John was asked to say about himself, John replied in this way  : *I am the voice of one crying out in the desert*

To say these words, John really knew who he was, and what his mission is?

To become the voice of some one is not very easy. It is really challenging task

*4) What does it mean to become some one's voice?*

It means to represent some one

It means to speak for someone

It means to introduce some one who is very important

It means to work for some one

It means trying to  become the one, whose voice he wants to become

*5) What will I say about myself today?*

I have been living my Christian life and faith for so many years.

After many years of living my Christian faith, the question is *What do you have to say for yourself?*

Only a serious and deep thinking will enlighten us to answer this question

*6) When John said he is the voice, no one questioned*

His answer was accepted by those who came to seek an answer from Him

This means his answer was authentic. Whatever he said about himself was correct. So there was no duplicity in his answer

*7) What about me?*

I may have many things to say about myself. But the question is, are they true?

Are they really applicable to me

Are those things accepted by other without any hesitation

So *What do you have to say for yourself?”*

*Think about it seriously*

*God bless you and your family. Praying for you and your dear ones*
