Turning ones back and turning ones face to God

Gospel Thoughts*

*Lenten Season : C Cycle : 3rd Week - Thursday*

*GOSPEL -  Lk 11:14-23*

*FIRST READING Jer 7:23-28*

*Turning ones back and turning ones face to God*

*1) Two important gestures towards God*

The first reading of the day speaks about the two important gestures which a Person can show to God

These gestures show what type of attitude one has towards God.

One is positive and spiritually motivated gesture and the other one is negative and problem for the growth of Spiritual life.

*2) Turning ones back to God*

This gesture shows some kind of arrogance of the person towards God

The first reading has the following characteristics of this gesture

They are the one who don't obey

They are the ones who don't pay heed to Gods voice

They are the ones whose hearts are very hard

They are the ones whose hearts have full of evil thoughts

Having such an attitude it is natural that they turn their backs to God and act arrogantly

*3) Turning ones face to God*

This gesture exhibits a positive attitude and energy

This is a gesture of conversion and experiening God very closely

Turning ones face towards God, helps to renew ones commitment and to serve better

It is a gesture of ones willingness to serve for the needy

Turning ones face towards God, is a gesture of humility, acceptance, faith in God

*4) Lent is a special time to turn our face to God*

Though various ways we can turn our face to God

Through confession
Change of heart and mind
Through service
Through prayer
Through simplicity of Life
Through ones commitment

Am I ready to turn my face to wards God???

*Think about it*

*God bless you and your family. Praying for you and your dear ones*
