GOSPEL THOUGHTS
*Ordinary Season : 12th Week : Wednesday*
*Gospel : Mt 7:15-20*
*First Reading : Gn 15:1-12, 17-18*
*Nature is perfect in producing Fruits. What about Human beings?*
*1) Jesus on Natures Reaction*
In today's Gospel Jesus speaks about the Nature and various things in the nature and their fruits
He gives couple of examples to prove his point
One can't pick grapes from thornbushes. Grapes can be taken only from grapes trees. In other words, the vine will produce the grapes
One can't take figs from thistles. Figs are taken from fig trees and fig trees will give only fig trees
Jesus also says that good tree always gives only good fruit and bad tree gives only bad fruits. This is because of its nature. It follows its nature perfectly
*2) Trees don't forget to give their fruits*
We see varieties of trees in our surroundings. Each tree produces the fruit, according to its nature
The trees never forget to produce fruits. According to the season they produce the fruits
Here there is no duplicity, no hypocrisy, no recognition, or no attention seeking. It simply produces the fruit, when its time comes
*3) Human being is created in the image and likeness of God*
This is what we read in the scriptures.
Accordingly, in every Human being there is a divine nature, and the presence of God
So, a person who is having a divine nature within oneself, suppose to produce the fruits which should be the result of the Divine Nature
Divine Nature in the life of the human beings can produce only Good fruit, which makes the person more Holy and blessed
*4) Paradox and Contradictions in Human life*
According the divine Nature, which is hidden in human person should result in producing good fruit
But the paradox of human life is that, human beings produce fruits, which go against their very nature
This is seen only in Human being
Doing all kinds of evil things, is nothing but going against our own nature and producing fruits, which are against to our nature
This is the paradox and contradiction of Human life
*5) Do I produce fruit according to my Nature?*
I am created by God, to love Him, to praise Him, and to spread His kingdom and finally to attain Eternal life
If So, how can I do a particular things which goes against the very purpose for which God created me?
How to explain the bad fruits from a good tree?
Is my life producing fruit according to its nature or against its nature?
If my life producing fruits against its nature, who is responsibile for it?
What are the things which contribute to produce fruits, which are against of ones nature??
*Think about it*
