Household enemies of one's Life

GOSPEL THOUGHTS

*Ordinary Season: Fifteenth Week : Monday*

*Gospel : Mt 10:34—11:1*

*First Reading : Is 1:10-17*

*Household enemies of one's Life*

*1) Person's enemies will be those of his own household*

In todays Gospel Jesus says about ones enemies. These enemies will from his/her household

The household has very close relationship to the person

Household refers to ones parents, siblings, children and in-laws

So enemies are from this background

*2) Deeper meaning of the household*

We can consider our life itself is a house. In this house there are multiple things we see

Some of them work just like the enemies, which do not allow us to grown

So at times the things from this household trouble us like enemies and we find lots of challenges to face them

*3) Enemies from the household of our Life*

These are the things which are found in our household

Pride
Arrogance
Hypocrisy
Revenge
Duplicity
Gossip
Anger
Jealousy
Selfishness
Greed
Sensual pleasures

*4) Relationship between these enemies*

Father and Son relationship
Daughter and Mother relationship
Daughter in law and mother in law relationship

These three types of relationship symbolise the closeness and despth of relationship

Some times our relationship with these above enemies would be like the above mentioned relationship

To break this relationship we need a strong reason and motivation

*5) Need of breaking the relationship with the Enemies*

One can't keep a good relationship with the enemies even though some times the relationship appear like a strong blood relationship

Enemies are enemies. We can't trust them. This brings the need of breaking the relationship with the enemies

One who breaks the relationship with these enemies for the building of the kingdom of God, his/her relationship with the divine remains for eternity

Only with the help of Jesus we can break the our bad relationship with bad things to save our life for eternity

*Think about it*

*God bless you and your family. Praying for you and your dear ones*
