Do You Love me?

Gospel Thoughts

*Easter Season : Third Week - Sunday*

*GOSPEL -  Jn 21:1-19 or 21:1-14*

*FIRST READING - Acts 5:27-32, 40b-41*

*Do You Love me?*

*1) A special question*

Jesus would have asked different questions like,

Will you remain faiful to me?
Will you continue my mission?
Will you become a model for me?
Will you proclaim the good news?

But Jesus asked none of these questions, but asked Do you love me?

Why did Jesus ask this question?

*2) Among all Love is greatest 1 Cor 13:13*

Jesus asked this question because, Love means everything

Beyond love there is nothing

If one is ready to love means, he/she is ready to do anything, and ready to face any consequences

So love can face anything and love can endure anything

*3) Only Love can continue Jesus' Mission*

Love is a powerful weapon

Love is a strong desire, which can move a person to do anything.

The nature of Jesus' Mission is such, only the power of Love can continue it

So it is very important to know the power of Love.

By this Jesus also showed the power of Love

*4) Three times - Why?*

When something happens for three times it becomes a issue

Some times what is asked once, we forget and we don't pay any attention.

But something which is asked for three times catches our attention

By asking three times, Jesus not only highlighted the need and necessary of Love in doing the mission of Christ.

*5) Yes, I Love you - Should be seen in action*

It is not enough to say that I love you. Jesus says, tend my sheep

So love should be seen in action. That is why Jesus says *Follow me*

Following Jesus means following the Love commandments .

So ultimately do I love Jesus. If yes, what are the ways through which we follow Jesus?

*Think about it*

*God bless you and your family. Praying for you and your dear ones*
