GOSPEL THOUGHTS

*Advent Season :  3rd Week : New Liturgical Year : Thursday*

*Gospel : Lk 1:39-45*

*First Reading : Sg 2:8-14 or Zep 3:14-18a*

*The response of Elizabeth at Mary's Greeting*

*1) Mary's Greeting*

In fact Mary's greeting was not a simple greeting. It was a special greeting because

Jesus is in her womb

Mary already had divine experience through the Angel

As angel said, Mary was full of Grace

She is the only one with Whom God favoured for His mission

That's why Mary's greetings become very special

*2) She was filled with Holy Spirit*

First of all with Mary's greeting Elizabeth was given the gift of the Holy Spirit

She was filled with the Holy Spirit. Mary's greetings resulted the experience of the Holy Spirit.

*3) Baby leaped in her Womb*

With the Greeting of Mary, the baby in Elizabeth's womb leaped with joy

This Wonderful experience is the result of Mary's greetings, and the presence of Jesus

*4) Elizabeth's praise of Mary*

The Greetings of Mary made Elizabeth to cry in loud voice praising Mary for her special role in God's salvific plan

Elizabeth praised Mary as the Most blessed  among all women,

Elizabeth said that the fruit of Mary's womb is the blessed one

A sense of Wonder and awe  at the most divine visit

A miraculous response how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

*5) What is my response?*

We are reaching towards the feast of Christmas

Mother Mary is ready to come to our life and house taking Jesus along with Her.

If so what is my response?

The Response of Elizabeth was one of models to know how to respond to the situation

Elizabeth's response made the entire world, to know the importance of Mary and Jesus

What is my response to Mary who is bringing Jesus into my life?

*Think about it*

*God bless you and your family. Praying for you and your dear ones*
