God's remembrance of his promise of mercy

GOSPEL THOUGHTS

*Advent Season :  3rd Week : New Liturgical Year : Friday*

*Gospel : Lk 1:46-56*

*First Reading : 1 Sam 1:24-28*

*God's remembrance of his promise of mercy*

*1) Promise of Mercy*

We have variety of promises in our life

During wedding, religious commitment, and on other important we make some important promises which we try to follow as much as possible

But we have a special type of promise by God, that is the promise of Mercy

Mercy is a free gift of God to us. God out of his mercy, forgives our sins and gives us new life

Mercy is something which one can't buy with power, money, position or influence

It is a free gift to all of us

*2) The Effect of the Promise of Mercy*

First effect is that, God becomes man to actualise the power of mercy. God primarily became man to show us mercy and to save us from the clutches of Sin and Devil

Secondly all of are the beneficiaries of God's mercy. Through His mercy he saved us and gave us new life

Thirdly it is because of God's mercy that we get  multiple chances to renew our life

*3) Mary and Promise of Mercy*

In the magnificat, Mary praises God for his wonderful designs. One among them was the promise of God's Mercy

It is through mercy that She was chosen as the Mother of God

It was through the promise of Mercy, she conceived through the Holy Spirit

It was through the mercy of God, she accepted the plan of God

It was through the mercy of God, that she was able to  face all the challenges of life

*4) God never fails*

The word fail does not exist in God's Dictionary

God's promise of Mercy is always ever creative, powerful and active

God's mercy has no end. The more you enjoy the mercy the more deeper you enter in

*5) What about My Promises?*

I too have made many promises to God and to others

How far have insucceded in remaining faithful to my promises ?

Have I understood the value of promise?

How can I be more faithful in observing the promises??

*Think about it*

*God bless you and your family. Praying for you and your dear ones*
